The Fire Weeds' Jaclyn Bethany directs a diptych of early one-acts by Tennesssee Williams that served as drafts for later classics: Interior: Panic, which eventually evolved into A Streetcar Named Desire; and The Pretty Trap, whose themes would be expanded (minus the happy ending) in The Glass Menagerie. Though the plays are markedly inferior to the full-length ones they germinated, this presentation offers a rare opportunity to see them onstage and, perhaps, mine them for insights into Williams's creative process.
