Founded in Chicago in 1959, the Second City is one of the world's leading improv comedy centers; its alums include Alan Alda, Bill Murray, John Belushi, Christ Farley, Mike Myers, Steve Carell, Jordan Peele, Keegan-Michael Key, Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Stephen Colbert, Cecily Strong, Stephen Yeun, Sam Richardson and countless others. The organization expanded to New York in 2023; its new Williamsburg complex includes two cabaret-style theaters, seven training classrooms and a restaurant.
