Ripe Time's Rachel Dickstein boldly directs Ellen McLaughlin's stage adaptation of Virginia Woolf’s Mrs. Dalloway. Translating that novel’s daunting stream-of-consciousness fluidity with flair is no small feat; but while Dickstein and her actors effectively combine dance and prose, transforming the text into a satisfying dramatic event proves too great a challenge.—Paul Menard
