This exhibition will present 39 artworks by Assurbanipal Babilla (1944–2011), Iranian theater and visual artist. Babilla immigrated to the U.S. in 1980 during the Iranian Revolution, and his experimental plays reflect a lifelong fascination with sex, politics and religion. The opening reception on Fri 17 will feature a performance by singer Sussan Deyhim. The art will remain on display through Sat 18, when several of Babilla's theater collaborators will discuss his life and stage work and read excerpts from his plays.
