The Signature kicks off Suzan-Lori Parks's four-play residency with a revival of her 1990 postmodern riff on African-American icons and stereotypes. Bizarre and opaque yet fiercely political (especially in this historical moment) the piece has been given a sharp and unnerving staging by Lileana Blain-Cruz.
