You may have to sell your soul to get tickets for one of the two (sold-out) marathon performances of director-adaptor-macher Peter Stein's 12-hour adaptation of Dostoyevsky's novel, which covers a lot of bases in the Lincoln Center Festival's international ball game: It's a German's adaptation of a Russian book, performed in Italian for an American audience. Tower of Babel be damned!
