New York Gilbert & Sullivan Players revives the great 19th-century operetta team's best-loved show: an 1879 romp down a Cornwall coast that bustles with sweet-hearted pirates, bumbling policemen and pretty young lasses. The still-delightful score includes such favorites as "Poor Wandr'ing One," "With Cat-like Tread," "I Am the Very Model of a Modern Major-General." Company founder and artistic director Albert Bergeret shares conducting duties with Joseph Rubin.
