Underneath the Skin

Performance artist John Kelly stars in—and directs, and choreographs, and designs the set and video for—a new dance-theater work inspired by the 20th-century-spanning life of the queer author, tattooist, eroticist and sexual swashbuckler Samuel M. Steward. The text is drawn from Steward's writings, and many of the video projections are inspired by his artwork.
