Curator Hilary Ballon and NYPL geospatial librarian Matt Knutzen ponder the meaning of the Manhattan’s layout, in conjunction with MCNY’s current exhibit “The Greatest Grid: The Master Plan of Manhattan, 1811–2011.” The talk coincides with Manhattanhenge, when the sunset aligns with the island’s crosstown streets.
