Artist and designer Adam Frank has installed an "auto-affirmation machine" that allows passersby to step into a literal spotlight during their visit to Times Square. Your presence triggers the illumination, along with an enthusiastic roar of applause. Recite a speech or song, or simply remain still—the 500-member audience will cheer your exit either way.
