Time Out says

Enjoy a day-long celebration of Pan-African artistry and musicality on Saturday, August 12, from the Caribbean Cultural Center African Diaspora Institute, in partnership with the Friends of Harlem Art Park Alliance and the National Jazz Museum in Harlem.

This year's event is titled Afribembé Festival: Black to the Future, with a focus on elevating Afrofuturism from a global diasporic lens with Africa at the center. The free daylong event runs from 12-6pm at the Harlem Art Park and on E 120th Street between Lexington and Third Avenues.

Expect live music, dance, performing arts and artivism activities. Grammy-nominated Cuban percussionist Pedrito Martinez will be a headliner. Additional performers include Combo Chimbita, Chimurenga Renaissance, Imani Uzuri, Asase Yaa African American Dance Theater, Chief Awosánmí Sékou Alájé, and DJ Bembona. Rasu Jilani will serve as the event’s MC.
