Now that vinyl’s comeback has jumped the shark (see: LPs in Whole Foods), you can devote your music dollars to the next analog comeback. Enter Cassette Store Day, which brings limited-release tapes to participating record outlets. DIY venue–art space Silent Barn (603 Bushwick Ave between Jefferson and Melrose Sts, Bushwick, Brooklyn; silentbarn.org; 5pm–midnight; $5) goes one step further, hosting an expo with Walkman-friendly labels such as God Mode, Tranquility Tapes and Burger Records, and raucous live music from punchy local acts including Sleepies and Lame Drivers.
