Celebrate Hawai‘i Weekend: Fashion & Design

Advertising

Time Out says

Head to the New York Botanical Garden to explore Hawaiian fashion over time, from the gowns of Iolani Palace’s queens to the contemporary pieces of fashion phenom Manaola Yap. You can also learn how to make the traditional Hawaiian fabric kapa and watch tattoo demonstrations at the weekend-long event. While you're there, be sure to check out the garden's Georgia O’Keeffe: Visions of Hawai‘i exhibit, which features 17 paintings and lots of cool info about NYBG’s ongoing efforts to study and document the plants of Hawaii.
