The city bought 800-plus acres to build Central Park in July 1853, and since then renovations and new additions to the area have only increased its beauty. Now that our city’s Hoth-like permavortex has receeded you can actually enjoy it. Stroll through Sheep Meadow and the Ramble, and learn about the original design concept of the park’s architects, Calvert Vaux and Frederick Law Olmsted. Meet at the northeast corner of W 66th St and Central Park West.
Subway: C to 72nd St, 1 to 66th St–Lincoln Ctr.
