Ecstatic Music Festival: Talea Ensemble, Tyshawn Sorey & John Zorn

By pairing up musicians from disparate styles in order to expand the field of postgenre chamber music, this contemporary-classical festival has quickly become a reliable bet. This set features the Talea Ensemble (a group that has previously collaborated with Steve Coleman's avant-jazz band). Tonight it plays compositions by two jazz-classical conceptualists, John Zorn and Tyshawn Sorey.
