To celebrate this momentous occasion, the tech giant is throwing an all-out, open-to-the-public party at the Samsung 837 flagship in New York City’s Meatpacking District. Whether you’re looking to hear some great music or interact with the latest and greatest in mobile technology (believe us when we say it’s a real game-changer), this is the place to be on Thursday night. There’ll be interactive indoor and outdoor experiences showcasing some of the device’s key features, a stacked line-up of surprise special guests, and even a Fortnite bus (let that sink in, gamers). And, it wouldn’t be a party without great eats and drinks either. Don’t wait. Mark your calendars for After Unpacked: An Evening for the Rest of Us. We’ll see you at Samsung 837.
1. You’ll get a first look at new tech
Samsung’s been building up some serious excitement around the launch of their newest Galaxy device. Come find out exactly what the hype is all about. Kiosks at the block party will allow you to test key new features of the new devices—from the signature S Pen (and its AR feature) to their new Bixby translating software and live messaging—so you can get a sense of how powerful and innovative it is. Like what you see? You’ll have a chance to pre-order your own device with while you’re there for special exclusives.
2. The concert will be lit
Surprise special guest, Logic, will be on-stage, live for one-of-a-kind performance. This is one you definitely don’t want to miss, so catch it live outside or via the live broadcast on the screens indoors. Want to share the moment with your friends? Users around the world will be able to view the livestream on YouTube and Facebook.
3. Two words: Fortnite Bus
Got the Fortnite Android app? There’ll be a bus where you can connect with fellow gamers and get some play time as well. After the music, ten lucky Galaxy owners—selected at random, based on participation outside—will be invited to participate in a Fortnite competition in the 837 building. Gaming legend, Ninja, will be on-site hosting the competition, and the game will be displayed on screens throughout the building.
4. Delicious local eats and drinks
A line-up of food and drink vendors from neighbouring eateries will be serving up savory bites and cocktails all evening. Whether you’re in the mood for fried chicken sandwiches or street tacos, Samsung 837 has got you covered. Southern food favorite Bubby's will be offering gut-sticking sliders like barbecue pulled pork and fried chicken, while Bodega Negra will serve a choice of chicken, veggie, and pork tacos.
5. It’s the ultimate party for creatives
Come hear from industry leaders in tech, media, and entertainment, and discover what empowers their work. Exciting special guest speakers will take the Mainstage throughout the evening.—the spectacular, hilarious actress, writer, director and producer, Issa Rae, is one of the headliners, along with Snapchat darling Casey Neistat.
