On May 9, Japan Parade returns to Central Park West at 1pm, bringing a deliriously joyful collision of tradition and pop culture to the Upper West Side. Look for taiko drummers, martial artists, dancers and elaborately costumed marchers streaming south from 81st to 67th Streets, plus a street fair packed with ramen, origami and other delights.
