Kalustyan's is a chef's life-saver. Do you really want to make that Indian dish at home, but the list of ingredients is so overwhelming that you never do? Just make one stop at Kaluystan's and you will get everything you need for a decent price. Seriously, this place has every spice under the sun, whole or ground. The most remote and foreign ingredients can be found here. The shop also has nuts, herbs, hot peppers, jarred goods, vanilla beans, dates...everything. If you can't find what you're looking for, just ask the staff. The shop is located on "curry hill" near madison square park.
