Located on E. 57th Street, The Korea Society is a fantastic venue to learn about both Koreas on the peninsula.I became a member as I am intrigued by North Korea and figured this would be one of the best sources of current North Korean events. They’re conferences were fairly split between North and South and some included both.I attended mostly the North events and they were fascinating. From “artwork” of the hermit kingdom depicting the “Bastard USA” and “The Puppet South Korea” in less than flattering paintings to actual escapees from the North, the Korea Society provided an incredible amount of information. They also had a singer and guitarist one evening performing ‘Tondallari’ (Korean folk songs) in the traditional outfits.
