Some pop-up events offer questionable bang for your buck, but when said event boasts free tacos and drinks from LA along with a DJ, games and a chill outdoor space? That one’s definitely worth your time. This Saturday and Sunday, LA Tourism is taking over TailGate Outdoor Sports Bar in Williamsburg and serving up tacos from Chef Enrique Olvera’s new LA taqueria DITROIT and pours from the LA-based Golden Road Brewery. On Saturday at 4pm, Fun With Dumb host Jon Park is interviewing New York Nico for a live podcast, and there will be LA-themed cornhole, video games and limited-edition merch for sale. (Curious about the sports theme? It’s to promote this year’s Super Bowl being held in LA this coming February, along with the upcoming MLB All-Star Game at Dodger Stadium and, later this decade, the World Olympic & Paralympic Games. Sports lover or not, there’s no arguing against free tacos. The event's running from noon until 8pm on Saturday and from noon until 5pm on Sunday.
