Head to Greenlight Bookstore on Flatbush Avenue for an evening celebration of Martin Luther King Jr.'s life and legacy on Monday, January 16. The event features professor Jeanne Theoharis, who has written many books and articles on the civil rights and Black Power movements; photographer Celeste Lacy Davis, who focuses her camera lens on Harlem's communities; and New York State Senator Zellnor Myrie.
It's hosted by the Prospect Lefferts Gardens Neighborhood Association as part of an ongoing civic engagement series, which centers on nonprofit groups working in social justice, community organizing and the arts.
