Mamma Andersson, "Behind the Curtain"

To create her photo-based canvases, this Swedish painter employs abstracting elisions of pictorial detail not dissimilar to those of her stablemate, Luc Tuymans. But her images seem more Surreal and stagy, as if her compositions depict theatrical scenes that are sometimes populated with figures and sometimes not.
