The members of long-running vocal troupe Manhattan Transfer may be guilty of histrionics, but at least they have a great excuse: As jazz singers coming of age in the rock era, that was only way to get noticed and stay noticed. Closing in on their 40th anniversary, they're still crooning and scatting with gusto.
