For years, mutts have been shut out of the Westminster Kennel Club shows, victims of their dubious genetic lineage. Masters Agility Championship at Westminster, a new addition to main event on Monday 10 and Tuesday 11, introduces mixed breeds for the first time alongside the standard corgis, collies and cocker spaniels. Unlike the purebred promenade, this contest judges pups for more than their shiny, well-groomed coats: namely, running, leaping and weaving skills. See the field of 225 pooches navigate ramps, tunnels, seesaws and other obstacles in what’s basically a cuter, furrier version of American Gladiators.
