For a more realistic alternative to Valentine’s weekend in the City of Light, take your amour to Gemini & Scorpio’s Paris-inspired extravaganza. The party planners’ massive new Gowanus loft space (the location is disclosed after you RSVP) will be transformed into a Pigalle-style playground with can can dancers, cabaret acts and vintage gypsy jazz from acoustic quartet LES Hot Club. Sip absinthe and watch performances by chanteuse Maggie Dobbins, Karen LeBlanc on the musical saw and burlesque artistes Beezlebabe, LeRoi Prince and Rococo Caine. An astrologer and tarot-card reader will be on hand to illuminate your romantic destiny and DJs take over at 1am. The dress code—whether full Moulin Rouge garb or formal attire—is mandatory (see website for details).
