“I’m a freshman at NYU, so I go to Washington Square Park (W 4th St to Waverly Pl between MacDougal St and University Pl, nycgovparks.org). The pigeon man freaks me out, though. I have a fear of pigeons and squirrels—they gross me out. I don’t know why. I always flinch and duck and run away from them.”

“My friends and I go to Oren’s Daily Roast (29 Waverly Pl between Greene St and University Pl; 212-420-5958, orensdailyroast.com) for the ‘crack coffee.’ We think it’s laced with crack because we, like, twitch afterward. I just get a small chai latte ($3.50) and even that pretty much does the job. It’s crazy.”

“We also go to the poetry readings at Cornelia Street Café (29 Cornelia St between Bleecker and W 4th Sts; 212-989-9319, corneliastreetcafe.com). I like poetry in different languages. I’m Persian, so I like Spanish because I understand it—but French is actually my favorite. It’s so pretty.”

“My new favorite restaurant is BondSt (6 Bond St between Broadway and Lafayette St; 212-777-2500, bondstrestaurant.com). It’s sushi and it’s delicious—I really like the tuna crispy rice ($17) and the red-snapper tacos ($17).”
