Nicolas Holiber, Head Of Goliath

Built from debris found around the city—such as broken shipping pallets—Holiber’s colorful mixed-media sculpture depicts the severe head of the biblical Philistine giant slain by the shepherd boy and future King of Israel. Holiber has said that the piece, which measures four by ten feet, is meant as a metaphor for life in New York, where ambitious strivers come from around the world to make their mark, conquering whatever obstacles are in their way.
