Serious runners often load up on calories before a race, but it’s a special kind of athlete who consumes a massive amount of carbs mid-dash. Participants at the fourth annual NYC Pizza Run will do just that, stopping at three checkpoints to swallow a slice while trying to outpace each other (and avoid indigestion). Proceeds from the pig-out—as well as its after-party at Common Ground (206 Ave A between 12th and 13th Sts), where you’ll find discounted brews ($3) and Cajun Bloody Marys ($4)—will benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
