Time Out says

Most people associate fireworks with the Fourth of July. But New Year’s Eve? Most definitely. This December 31 celebrate the new year in Coney Island at One Brooklyn New Year's Eve,  a family-friendly event that will include free ice skating at the Abe Stark Rink, free rides such as Deno’s Wonder Wheel and the Thunderbolt, and extra hours of operation at the New York Aquarium. Kicking off at 10pm at Steeplechase Plaza will be sideshow performances, live music plus a DJ stand followed by a digital “burst” of color at midnight from the Parachute Jump and fireworks to cap the night and usher in 2017. Let’s put 2016 behind us with positive vibes and a full-on extravaganza for all ages.
