Oscar Celebrates: Shorts and Documentary Short Films

Catch awards fever early at this weekend-long screening of Academy-nominated flicks. Saturday’s three-hour-plus session features five animated and five live-action mini-movies, including “Fresh Guacamole” by ad-industry joker PES and “The Longest Daycare” which chronicles Maggie Simpson’s adventures in the Ayn Rand School for Tots. Return on Sunday to see the five documentary short nominees, including “Redemption,” which explores the lives of New Yorkers who make a living by collecting and recycling cans and bottles.
