Poetic voices come together to celebrate the performance fusions that evolved on the Lower East Side of the 1960s and ’70s ("Loisaida" in Nuyorican dialect). Dedicated to the memory of Tato Laviera and Amiri Baraka, the event will feature poets Sandra María Esteves, Jesús Papoleto Meléndez, David Henderson, Edwin Torres, LaTasha N. Nevada Diggs and Urayoán Noel, and includes screenings of rare footage from the era.
