Rooftop Chamber Music

Things to do

Time Out says

Friendly warning! We're working hard to be accurate. But these are unusual times, so please check that events are still happening.

Enjoy live chamber music from Tertulia Chamber Music and musicians who regularly play with the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, Imani Winds and the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra during a day-long festival on a Long Island City rooftop this weekend.

Performances, with two programs in each, will feature works by Mendelssohn, Brahms, Jessie Montgomery, Iva Bittova, Isidora Zebeljan, Erwin Schulhoff and Francis Poulenc, and will be offered at noon, 2pm, 4pm and 6pm.

There will be no more than 50 people (including musicians) at each event, audience groups will be seated at socially distanced tables and all participants will be required to wear masks at all times (except while eating or drinking). Programs will be offered online, and all surfaces will be disinfected between performances. Additionally, stairwells will operate in one-way routes and elevator use will be restricted, with sanitizer provided. Audiences will be requested not to arrive until 20 minutes before each event, and asked to leave within 15 minutes of the conclusion of each event. Everyone is encouraged to bring their own food and drinks to enjoy.
