Sam Samore, "Accumulation of Shapes (Part One)"

Samore has been playing with photographic conventions for nearly 40 years, and in this show he evokes the cinematic split screen in a series of portraits of French actress Juliette Dol. He joins separate images of Dol, taken several frames apart, and adds a prominent black dividing line—a kind of fault line demarcating a slippage in time and space.
