What do you do? I am about to release a book titled The Young and the Banging (youngandbanging.com). It’s a downtown NYC yearbook. Downtown NYC has always felt like a big kids’ high school to me—like never-never land, it’s a place where people can stay young forever. This is an ongoing project: I will do yearbooks for other cities as well, like L.A., Paris, London, Berlin, Amsterdam, Tokyo, etc. I’ve partnered with Nike for a monthlong gallery show in their 255 Elizabeth Street space (pictured; running through September 28). The show revisits what made high school so memorable and so terrifying.
How would you classify your style? Easygoing, subtle, cool.
What are some of your favorite places to hang out in NYC? The benches outside Balthazar for people-watching, Lit Lounge and Beatrice Inn for night, Central Park for day and La Esquina always.
Why did you choose 255 Elizabeth Street for the photo? Because it looks good.
What are you excited to do this fall? Fashion Week parties are fun. I love when the city comes to life in the fall and everyone is back from vacation. I’m thinking about traveling to Argentina in November.
