"Soulful Creatures: Animal Mummies in Ancient Egypt"

Move over, Stephen King. To date, millions of mummies of birds, cats, dogs, snakes and monkeys have been discovered in pet cemeteries throughout Egypt. View these intricately wrapped and preserved animals, thought to be able to carry messages to the gods, at this Brooklyn Museum exhibition. Also on display are CT scans showing empty and misleading wrappings, revealing the moneymaking scams of the priests who sold the mummies. It gives a whole new meaning to the term pyramid scheme.
