Staten Island St. Patrick's Day Parade

The Isle of Staten marks its 50th procession this year—not quite as venerable as the Fifth Avenue parade, which began in 1762, but nothing to sneeze at either. The golden-anniversary edition invites all former grand marshals of the parade to ride in style behind current sash bearer Gerald Mulvaney. Begins at Forest Ave and Hart Blvd, Staten Island. From the Staten Island Ferry, take the S46, S48 or S98 bus.
