Tenement Talks: A Bintel Brief

Artist Liana Finck's graphic novel illustrates the popular advice column of the Yiddish-language newspaper The Forward. Written by a diverse community of Eastern European Jewish immigrants beginning in 1906, the letters captured the hope, isolation and confusion of assimilation.
