Nuit Blanche New York (nbnyprojects.com), the group behind 2010 and 2011's nighttime Bring to Light festival, are switching gears this year with an event and exhibition space in Greenpoint for the duration of October. The opening is on October 5 (8pm–midnight) and features a collaboration of 32 musicians called OneBeat (1beat.org) who will also welcome A Tribe Called Quest's Ali Shaheed Muhammad, fast-rising rapper Blitz the Ambassador, talented songwriter Jolie Holland and saxophonist Sam Hillmer into the fold. Cartune Xprez (cartunexprez.com) will contribute live visuals, and artist Francisco Ugarte is installing a site-specific artwork.

Advance general admission is $12 (buy tickets); a Premiere Pass $40 (buy tickets) includes an after-party at The End, featuring complimentary booze from Sixpoint.
Stay tuned for further event announcements. While nothing's been confirmed by Nuit Blanche, there's word of two evenings of performances curated by Montgomery Knott of the long shuttered Monkeytown and Andrew W.K., respectively, and the website lists Four Tet and Jamie xx on the same bill (!), as well as a Halloween party.
