Union Square Greenmarket 50th Anniversary Celebration

Union Square Greenmarket turns 50, which is frankly a pretty good excuse to leave work a little early to score some great produce and likely avoid Cyclospora. The Greenmarket 50th Birthday Celebration honors five decades of bringing local farmers, fresh produce and assorted goodness to Union Square from 4pm to 8pm for a day of food, festivities and community, plus live music from the Jazz Foundation. Come celebrate the city’s original farm-to-table movement and leave with enough vegetables to convince yourself you’re finally going to make that New York Times recipe you saved a year ago.
