There’s nothing like summer in New York, so we thought we’d celebrate by teaming up with the Broadway production of Pretty Woman: The Musical and sending cast members Orfeh, Eric Anderson, Allison Blackwell, Robby Clater, and Lauren Lim Jackson to some of NYC’s coolest venues, alongside entrepreneur Lara Eurdolian! That’s right – we got the cast from a much-loved modern fairytale to help celebrate our love affair with the city. (Aren’t we clever?)

And sure, it’s hardly been a scorcher so far but there’s plenty of time for that, right? Whether you’re looking for summetime treats or a sweet and shady place to kick back, we think the below will give you all the inspo you need to start planning your summer. After all, who wants to be all hot and bothered?

Read on to find out what happened when we sent the cast from one of Broadway’s hottest shows to some of NYC’s coolest venues.

You can catch Pretty Woman: The Musical on Broadway at The Nederlander Theatre.

Ample Hills

Listen up, dairy devotees! There’s a reason why we all scream for ice cream—and Ample Hills is a cherished spot that you gotta check out this summer. The Pretty Woman crew knows a thing or two about sweet tales, and this is one of their faves – so that’s the only excuse you need to get your dreamy, creamy kicks! Expect freshly churned ingredients, creative flavors and even sorbets. For Pride season, you can even get a taste of the limited-edition flavor ‘Baby I was Churned this Way’, a salty hazelnut ice cream mixed with chocolate-covered, rainbow-colored sunflower seeds.

Canal Street Market

Love shopping just as much as you love air-con? For a chill-out where you can do some stall-side snooping, Canal Street Market has you covered. A far cry from the snobby shops that fail to help Vivian find some new clothes, this spot is super-friendly and relaxed. You’ll find an interesting, curated mix of vendors, including retail (where you can stockup on new summer looks) and food. Plus, if the sun’s got you a little dehydrated, make like the cast and have a sip of some milk tea from Boba Guys. It’s the good stuff.

Gallow Green

Staying cool isn’t just about guzzling water or dive-bombing into your favorite rooftop pool—it’s about enjoying New York’s most stylish haunts, too. Luckily, gorgeous garden hideaway Gallow Green fits the bill. With plenty of fresh-air, wild plants and shady nooks, there’s something tranquil about this perennial rooftop bar. Oh, and you can enjoy some sophisticated drinks there, too, like the seasonal house cocktail called Sleep No More, a mix of pea flower-infused vodka, elderflower and rosé cider. Come the weekend, dig into the brunch alongside your besties and make sure to take a pic for the ‘gram. Or, grab bae and watch the sunset like the lovebirds you are. What a fairytale...
