Time Out says

Currently on display in windows off Washington Square Park, the traveling exhibition "Guantanamo Public Memory Project (Why We Should Remember Guantanamo)" was launched in 2011 as a collaboration between more than 100 students, historians, artists, activists, archivists and teachers. Sponsored by 14 different organizations, including Columbia University and NYU, the exhibit features testimonies and interactive digital elements covering the site's history from the occupation by the U.S. in 1898 to present-day debates over the country's continued involvement.
