Time Out says

Pride is back for another year and it promises to be just as bright and beautiful as ever. But if you’re looking to kick things off with a musical bang, then catching this year’s WorldPride concert at the Barclays Centre is a total must.

So, what’s on? Oh, you know, just performances from little-known artists such as Cyndi Lauper, Billy Porter and Chaka Khan. And that’s not all—you’ll also get to enjoy music from Ciara, Daya and Todrick Hall, and the ceremony is being hosted by much-loved humanitarian and entertainer, Whoopi Goldberg. Yep, it’s an impressive line-up.

In fact, this year’s WorldPride opener promises to be an extra special event, for three reasons. Firstly, the event will benefit worthy causes, such as the Ali Forney Center, Immigration Equality and SAGE—proving that WorldPride is just as much about giving support as it is about celebrating the community. Secondly, it’ll mark 50 years since the Stonewall riots, and thirdly, because this will be the first time ever that NYC Pride will produce this event. So, naturally, we think you should go along to support the city (and to party, of course). Glitter and glowsticks at the ready, people.
