Time Out says

When you throw your garbage down the trash chute or leave it at the curb, where does it actually go? Why do we make so much garbage in the first place? What impacts does that have?

Think about those questions with some local experts at Zero Waste Workshop: Exploring Throw-Away Culture. Hear from Robin Nagle, author of the book Picking Up: On the Streets and Behind the Trucks with the Sanitation Workers of New York City and Maggie Lee, director of cultural and educational programs at the Sanitation Foundation. This free event will be held on Wednesday, January 25 at P&T Knitwear, an independent bookstore, podcast studio and community space on the Lower East Side.
