Time Out says

Get a closer look at the plant’s “digester eggs,” the silvery ovoids that can process up to 1.5 million gallons of sludge (the organic material in sewage) daily. Plant superintendent Jim Pynn leads the trek, which includes a Manhattan skyline view from the top of the eggs. Work-site-appropriate shoes are requested. Reservations are required; e-mail events@dep.nyc.gov.
