Held at the newly renovated hotel, the art exhibition showcases a series of artworks by Burmese contemporary artists Wunna Aung and Thu Myat. By using art as a medium, the two artists transport you back to the historical and traditional past of their Burmese culture and heritage. Through it, the two discuss and explore issues regarding the change and transformation of their society when faced with modernisation. Wunna Aung, an aficionado of the country’s history, invites the audience to discover Burma's last Konbaung dynasty through his artworks which draw influence from the style and colours of Andy Warhol. Thu Myat, on the other hand, incorporates his passion for science fiction into his pieces by modernising the traditional Burmese guardians whose duties were to protect the entrance of the Burmese pagodas.
