Time Out says

What if you could win an award for walking? That's exactly what Amanda Heng, winner of the 12th Benesse Prize, did. The multidisciplinary artist is known for encouraging intimate conversations with her performative works, where issues like complexities of labour or politics of gender are explored. Her SB2019 work Every Step Counts, sited at the Esplanade Tunnel, revisits her Let's Walk series first performed in 1999. In the projections, the artist draws upon the act of walking – moving forward, looking back, turning inward and venturing outward with others. Catch her Live Walk Performance on February 29 and March 21 from 7am to 10am, where she walks from SAM's hoarding along Bras Basah Road to the Esplanade Tunnel. Participation is free.
