From July 15 to August 15, Gajah Gallery will be exhibiting a powerful display of late Balinese artist I Gusti Ayu Kadek Murniasih's (also known as Murni) works, counting over 50 paintings and sculptures that span her prolific career from the mid 1990s to 2006. These powerful works shocked the Balinese community for their frank depiction of the female body, sexuality, strange and wild creatures, and vivid dreams. Step into Murni's subconscious as she continually reclaims her agency against the trauma of her childhood through revolutionary art.
