Time Out says

The time has come to bid farewell to Substation. But before that, Singapore's first independent contemporary arts centre is holding its last ever showcase, Mandala for Substation. The exhibition marks Tang Mun Kit's 19th Solo Exhibition, inspired by the Substation's uncertainty over its status and the sense of loss in continuity from the original purpose of "A Home for the Arts" as expounded by founder Kuo Pao Kun.

For those who aren't familiar with Tang Mun Kit, it's time to get acquainted. He's one of Singapore's earliest contemporary artists, introducing installation, conceptual and performance art to Singapore. In fact, he's an original member of the experimental collective The Artists Village.

The exhibition will showcase 20 paintings and four huge floor installations that were made using found objects, found carpet, paints and lightings to create a Mandala, a spiritual and ritual symbol in Hinduism and Buddhism that represents the universe.

Mun Kit's work showcases visual images for viewers to "meditate/imagine/ruminate" on the future of a new Substation – for it to be an inclusive space that invites all art forms without prejudice and to create a new era of possibilities and cross-fertilisation of disciplines.

If there's one exhibition you absolutely have to catch, it is this. So head on down before The Substation closes its doors.
