Time Out says

In case you haven't heard, next-generation contemporary art and design space Cuturi Gallery recently moved into its new home on Aliwal Street. To kick off a new era at its brand-new space at 61 Aliwal Street, the gallery showcases its first group exhibition 'New Beginnings' from October 17 to November 5.

Taking over the ground floor of the gallery, the exhibition highlights the works of 12 uber-talented emerging visual artists based in Singapore. The exhibition celebrates the vibrancy and diversity of the Singapore art scene, with works from Aisha Rosli, Delphine Rama, Faris Heizer, Marla Bendini, Mujahid Jalil, Seelan Palay, Casey Tan, Didier Jaba Mathieu, Goh Jia Jie, Masuri Mazlan, Oneal Parbo and Shen Jiaqi bringing colour to the gallery's minimalistic white walls.

Didier Jaba Mathieu's The Swamp Drainer (2020) is reminiscent of his iconic mural at Piedra Negra; Seelan Peelay's Faultline of the Perennial Exerting Parenthetical Agency (2020) is an intriguing oil on canvas piece; Casey Tan's Moon River #2 (2020) reflects prominent artists in the Singapore art scene; Aisha Rosli's unique paintings highlight the unique talents of the first c/discoveries graduate; Mujahid Jalil's The Toast (2020) is a satirical piece fit for the times and more.

And while you're in the area, check out Shayne Phua's unique sculptures at Coda Culture or explore the hip 'hood of Bugis and all the areas that helped land it a spot as our coolest neighbourhood in Singapore.
