What’s on

8th Objectifs Documentary Awards Exhibition

For the eighth edition of Objectifs’ Documentary Awards Exhibition, the gallery presents a lineup of new photography showcases, meet-the-artist sessions and an exclusive masterclass. The artists featured this year tell important stories from Cambodia, the Philippines, and Indonesia. In The Hair Between Us, Ponita Keo documents the significant role hair plays in Cambodian society. Through it, she captures the practice of elderly women shaving their heads and the beauty salon industry in the country. Meanwhile, Victoria Perote’s In Honour of Tranquil Shores uses photography to chronicle the experiences of a group of women during the Martial Law period in the Philippines. Mpu Uteun: The Leaves Remember Her Name follows Yoppy Pieter’s exploration of Aceh, where the province’s vibrant ecosystem meets the stories of those sworn to defend it. Don’t forget to also sign up for The Art of The Pitch. Learn from award-winning Filipino photojournalist Ezra Acayan on the process of pitching, drawn from his real-life experiences and professional insights. The two-hour workshop features a short exercise on the pitch process, including identifying the right news outlet for you and receiving feedback.
